Creative Careers Studio

In partnership with Arts Grow SC, The Athenaeum Press is collecting stories of creative professionals with connections to South Carolina to be featured in collaboration with the new Creative Careers Studio.

Featured in an upcoming podcast, interviews, and professional directory, we will provide students, guidance counselors, and educators with examples of how to use creative skill sets in rewarding careers. Professionals will come from a variety of industries, including technology, healthcare, and manufacturing, alongside arts nonprofits, education, and entrepreneurs.

“School helped me get a better gauge on the community, as well as my mentors and people who are trying to take it more seriously and engage their own work into real life and into a career. That definitely helped me take it more seriously.”
Matteo Miles, a muralist based in Greenville, SC, recalls his own time at a two-year college and discusses how it impacted him.
